United Radio Broadcasting 24/7 Streaming Internet Radio

DJ Agreement

i. United Radio DJ's Must Be Polite, Hospitable and Helpful at ALL Times, always put the listeners first, if unable to Help someone with a problem ask for assistance from another DJ.

ii. United Radio is for those tuned and should be catered for accordingly, an upset or disgruntled listener means one less tuned.

iii. If possible ALL Requests must be catered for... if unable to download a request see if another DJ may be able to MSN you the tune, better than saying no, again that could result in listener going elsewhere.

iv. All subjects regarding running of United Radio should be kept out of main #Radio room as People in there dont want to read about what goes on behind the scenes, they are in the room to have a laugh and listen to the tunes.

v. a. When the server is set to stream as no available DJ's are active arrangements should be made with person willing to take over streaming that a Live DJ is coming on air and stream kicked. b. If filling in server time and not atually scheduled to be on air then ANY willing DJ should be given the server. c. after every 2 hours a non-scheduled DJ filling a STREAM slot will offer & give up server to any other DJ willing to Take

vi. As a United Radio DJ I will agree to NEVER use Vulgar, bad language or profanities on mic.

vii. Not all songs of today are all ages, All DJs will make an effort to play songs that do not contain swears in them. This does not mean that a song with one or two swears is blacklisted. But Songs with Vulgar lyrics, racist slurs or lyrics, repeating lyrics of swears, and offensive lyrics shall not be played. Racism is seriously a questionable thing in songs, what some don't find offensive, others will. So its best just not to play them.
During requests you may find that someone has requested a song that fits one of those categories, If so please cut the song as soon as possible and remind the tuner we are not allowed to play those. If you are not familiar with a request, don't know it and are uncomfortable with it..."Don't Play It" then find a time to search the lyrics and check it out. Repeated Requests by one Tuner for songs with swears or racial content is grounds to be kick/banned!!!

New Rules For DJ's...whether Admin or Ops..

1) IF you can't make your set, you are to notify and get someone to cover

On the event that you are late for a set, it will be alright - life happens and not everyone can always be on time.

Also voting on any new subject..e.g new dj's
Voting should be strictly unbiased, if you cant do this, by all means put your points across,,
These will be considered, and then if you can keep your vote unbiased,vote,if not, you can abstain from the vote on that subject

Theres also an issue,where dj's wish to dj for other stations,this is acceptable as long as it does not interfere with your scheduled sets on United Radio, or your ability to DJ for United Radio!

Any DJ that is not on the schedule regularly & off, and fails to DJ within a two week period will loose DJ status and access

1. At least ONE of the current DJ's Must recommend you.
2. You MUST have been ACTIVELY involved with Radio room in Chat for at least 30 days or more.
3. Be at least 18 Years Old or Older. (may be flexible due to maturity)
4. Have a GOOD knowledge of mIRC Chat, WinAmp and ShoutCast.
5. A WORKING mic is essential, no exceptions.
6. A Broadband or equivalent Connection.
7. Agree to never offend,abuse, or slander any person who is in the Chat Room.
8. NEVER Say that you will do a set and not turn up without 1st posting on this Forum or in Chat Room.
9. Agree to ALL Rules & Conditions relating to Radio Server and Chat Room.
10. NO Passwords or any other sensitive materials be discussed with any 3rd parties outwith Radio Staff.

For people viewing this Forum, Leave a Post giving brief details about yourself, and myself or another Admin will get back to you as soon as possible. Hello :-)
After reading this through I am fairly certain I could be a DJ for UNITED!
I can not commit to a permanent slot(such as every tuesday at 8pm just for example) due to social and work aspects of my life.. but I can however take part in the weekly arrangements of slots and get in on DJ'ing that way.

I'm 19 years old and live in the lovely southern coast of England. Easy to get along with and love a good sense of humour! If you havn't got one, we might clash but from what I've seen in the room thats not likely to happen!
I have DJ'd before briefly for Guru, Mercury and a regular spot in Explorer. I play a huge array of music from anything to anything, really.. and I can incorporate requests simply once I set up a downloader as my old trustworthy WinMX has finally given up the ghost :-(
Although I may need a brief refresher it won't take me long to get back into the swing of things, otherwise I have everything I need to get started.

Be nice to hear a reply whenever possible :-)

Been thinkin about dj'n with about a year but my connection wasn't up to scratch... now i think it may be ok... got a mobile 3g modem which gives me a fluctuating 3.6 mbps connection.... *crosses fingers*

Well, about me...hmm.... i'm irish, 23, cheeky, funny (sometimes Razz

) and generally a fun lovin guy. I'm into a wide variety of music, from The Kooks to Andrea Bocelli to Klubbheads..... you name it and i'd listen to it Wink

So, basically, i'd love to give a go at dj'n, howsever, gotta be honest... cant hold a regular spot... work commitments plus the fact i'm irish (we likes a lil drink now and again ya know... wink wink)... and a drunken dj....sheesh..the thoughts lmao.

Well, iono, if this application will be successful, but no point in sayin i'll be on every night for 2 hours.....

Well lets see.. where do I begin. DJ'd for over 20 years b4 I decided to settle down and retire. Worked in places like New York, Boston, New Orleans, Amsterdamn, and my all time favorite... Ibiza. Ibiza was the best summer of my life..lol.

I deal mainly in club music.... trance, techno, rave, house, etc. and have a sizeable collection of that music going all the way back to the early 90's. I love trance the best b/c its beat calls out to my soul and brings out the animal in me.

I think I could do a great job DJ'ing in a club format if you offer that kind of thing... U know.. non stop mix session. I'm not sure how schedule thing would work as I am mostly available after 10 pm central US time or sometimes during the day. Maybe I could be one of those fill in DJ's that could grab the server when its on auto and slam out a 2 hr session or so.

I use Virtual DJ PRo application to mix with and it lets me broadcast on the net so that shouldnt be a problem.

I think I could be a DJ. needing no introduction, I am GeneralBeefstick, lol. I love music, and listen to everything, I am a well established member of #radio and get along with almost everyone. I have been absent for about a month, but you all know who I am, lol. my wit and cunning are legend, and I think I am well suiited for the position.

hey Netchick... im graduating Basic and today is our family day b4 graduation and ship off date. I will be sent to Maryland - Abreden Proving Grounds for at least 14 more weeks and hopefully before then I can get back envolved with the Community... any major changes since I was gone? Love ya,

heya i want to be a dj i love music i can do playlist's 2mb of speeed good pc to start on 315 songs i am updateing my music i am 22 years old.

I like all music when new songs come up i get them

i can DJ from 6pm gmt to about 12am gmt i live in the uk. I can do request's but it will be limet to start off. i have not DJ'd in my life but i am willing to have a go

I just turned 16 and uploading a lot of songs so far i have 800 songs x-x sadly i had more than that... but anyways... I love music and thought maybe i would give this djing a try *giggles* also have a mic -scared- ^_^ been active in the chat for about 1 year now -thinks- yeah IN june it will be a year *giggles* haha Very Happy

Hi im SPAWN . lol a familiar nick thats allways poping around the chat rooms , and one of those weirdos thats allways be requesting songs and hanging around in radio. i would like the chance to be apart of the #Radio room and be a dj . i got around 300 tunes , and curently downloading more . pc was reformatted awhile back and still getting songs . i'm mature and think i can handle it . im not new to djing . i have shoutcast source on my winamp . i dj'd b4 on another network long ago . Hoping to dj for UNITED RADIO . Smile

im able to dj maybe 2 times a week . the weekends . anytime im allways around and you can get a hold of me fast. ill probally be talking in #Radio . the weekdays ill be in school . except when i come home.
